A I 'BUCK' TURNER

The graveside service for A I “Buck” Turner, 79, of Ames, will be 2 p.m. Friday in Ames Cemetery. The Rev. Gordon Epps will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Ames to Alva and Bessie Cunningham Turner and died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He graduated from Ames High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He married Joan Booze March 31, 1951, in Enid. They lived briefly on a farm northeast of Ames until moving to Ames, where he owned a mechanic shop. He was foreman of highway maintenance for Major County and later worked for the Ames School District.

He was a member of American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Joan of the home; a daughter, Debbie Jantz of Ames; two sons, Johnny of Ames and Danny of Waukomis; a sister, Ella Pistole of Midwest City; a brother, Raymond of Ames; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Ames Fire Department.
