WILLIAM 'BILL' REDDING

A graveside service for William “Bill” Doys Redding, 78, of Ringwood, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Meno. Jim Thorpe will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Okemah, to Willie and Mary Keeler Redding and died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He grew up and went to school in Okemah. He worked for the city of Okemah before becoming a smelter at Eagle Pitcher for 22 years in Henryetta. He moved to Blackwell where he was a smelter at the foundry. He then moved to Enid where he worked for the city of Enid until going to work in the oil fields.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra Joyce, Tanya Hedges, and Catherine Walker, all of Enid; four sons, Gene of Ringwood, and Wesley, Weldon and Scott, all of Enid; one brother, Idus Redding of Ringwood; two sisters, Josephine Henshaw and Alma Lee, both of Sapulpa; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
