Enid,OK — The funeral for Letha Laverne Patton, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Revs. Tim Kuschel and Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will be in Ames Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1910, in Meno to Lester and Susie Wysong Mason and died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2009.
She graduated from Ames High School in 1928, as valedictorian. She married Martin L. “Buster” Patton June 11, 1929. They lived and farmed in the Meno and Ames area, moving to Enid in 1986. He died in 1987. She was a member of the Good Cheer Club, Ames Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school more than 25 years, former member of Ames Rebecca Lodge and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Willa Mae Rowley of Mustang, Marita Overfelt of Webb City, Mo., and Alice Minnick of Monticello, Ind; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Martin, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, two sons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
