Unknown NewspaperA memorial service for Robert "Bob" Packan, 33, of Okarche, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Inman will officiate. A private family burial will be in Ames Cemetery at a later date. He was cremated at his request.
He was born Feb. 28, 1974, in Pittsburg to David Andrew and Kathy E. Shoemaker Packan and died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at his home in Okarche.
He graduated from high school in Apache Junction, Ariz., in 1993.
He married Melissa LeeAnn Cottom March 17, 1995, in Ames. They made their home in Okarche, where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He worked as a natural gas mechanic in the oil and gas industry.
In 2002, he graduated from Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee Tech with an associate degree in diesel and heavy equipment.
Surviving are his wife, Melissa, of the home; one son, Dalton "Ty" Packan and one daughter, Hannah Jo Packan, both of the home; his father, David Packan and stepmother, Marie of Aliquippa, Pa.; his mother, Kathy Morgan of Enid; two brothers, William David Packan of Maine and Justin David Packan of Aliquippa; and his grandparents, Marquer-ite Packan of Midland, Pa., and William Poplin of Edmond.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Robert Packan's children's education fund.
