Funeral services for Clarence Leonard Outhier, 80, were Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at the Homestead Bible Church in Homestead, Oklahoma. The Reverends Bill Wiebe and Lonnie Ott officiated. Burial followed in the Homestead Cemetery with Pastor Jack Outhier officiating. Arrangements were by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Clarence Leonard Outhier was born January 13, 1925 to Lewis B.and Anna Mae Outhier in Homestead, Okla., and passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Enid, Okla.
Clarence grew up in the Homestead area and attended Homestead School. He joined the United States Army in 1942 during World War II and served in the Rhineland Campaign. Clarence married Mildred Westfahl on Oct 7, 1945 in Homestead. He received an honorable discharge in February of 1946.
He and Mildred settled back down in Homestead. He was an Eagle Scout and served as a scoutmaster for several years. Clarence was a farmer, worked at USG at Southard and Waldon's. He belonged to the Homestead Bible Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the Homestead Board of Directors. He always lent a helpful hand to neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; two sons, Tony L. Outhier and fiance Sue Wilson of Okeene, Charles L. Outhier, of the home; one brother Cecil Outhier and wife Eva, Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren, three of whom they raised, Donna, Terry and Galon Clifford and five other grandchildren, Charles Outhier, Jr., Stefanie Outhier, Audrey Outhier, Toni Lea Outhier and Karl Leonard Outhier; 11 Great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Kay and Sally Ann and his mother and father.
Memorial may be made through the funeral home to the Homestead Bible church.
