.HAZEL ARLENE STILES KIRKPATRICK

Hazel Arlene Stiles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E Stiles was born in Fairview Oklahoma October 23, 1926.

She attended schools near Fairview and graduated from the Cheyenne Valley High School at Cheyenne Valley Oklahoma with others in the spring of 1946. Later she graduated from a beautician school and followed that vocation until the time of her decease.

She was united in marriage to Reuben “Kirk” Kirkpatrick at Shattuck Oklahoma on August 16, 1947 where they made their home. May 17, 1949 she became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and during the past year, served in the station of Warden in that order. She was a successful business woman and greatly loved by her patrons.

She was killed in a highway accident 6 miles west of Woodward Thursday night, October 18, 1951. She would have been twenty five years old the following Tuesday, the day of her interment in the old neighborhood cemetery west of Fairview.

Services were conducted at Shattuck Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. J. H. Lomax and participated in by the members of the Eastern Star. At Fairview the service was conducted by M. M. Alden, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Charles E. Simpson.

Among those who mourn her going are her husband, Reuben “Kirk” Kirkpatrick; five sisters: Mrs. Volney Woodruff of Douglas Oklahoma, Mrs. Bill Neice and Mrs. J. A. Joplin of Wichita Kansas, Mrs. J. H. Howerton of Brownfield Texas, and Dorothy Stiles of the home; Her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Stiles of Lambert Oklahoma, and two brothers Harold Jr. and Larry of the home.
