The funeral for Benhard Jantzen, 90, of Ringwood will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Center Fellowship, Meno. Dan Davis and Cody Anderson, pastors, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Meno. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, and the casket will be open after the service at the church on Wednesday. He was born Oct. 30, 1915, at Okeene to Fred and Martha Hintergardt Jantzen and died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.
He grew up at Okeene and worked in the CC camp in Woodward from 1936-1937.
He married Velva Broomfield May 29, 1937. They made their home in Ringwood, where he farmed. They moved to Enid where he was a truck driver for Groendyke and Lugar, hauling gas and crude oil for 42 years. After his retirement, they moved to Ringwood. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of Ringwood Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include one son, Freddie of Okeene; five sisters, Evelyn Koehn of Enid, Tillie Cayot of Cushing, Lucille Campbell of Ringwood, Lillian Schmidt of Sedalia, Kan., and LaVera Eck of Las Animas, Colo.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife, Velva, he was preceded in death by three sons and one brother.
