On or about 10-8-1981Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer T. (Alice) Edson, 91, Burleson, TX. Will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (October 8,1981) in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson, with the Rev. Frank Leach officiating.
Her body will arrive in Enid late Thursday evening and the casket will be open at Henninger Allen Funeral Home. A second service will be at 2 pm Saturday (October 10,1981) in the Gautier Memorial Auditorium at Ames with the Rev. C.E. Weeks officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen.
Mrs. Edson died Wednesday a.m. in a Ft. Worth Texas hospital. She was born in Bradleysville, Missouri, October 26,1889 and moved to Mangum with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell as a small child.
She had lived in Ames many years before moving to Burleson three years ago. Mrs. Edson was a member of First United Methodist Church at Ames.
She and Elmer T. Edson were married January 11,1913 in Quannah, Texas. Mrs. Edson was preceded in death by a son , who died during World War ll while on active duty in Europe, a brother and her husband.
Survivors are a son, Calvin E. Edson of Joshua Texas; a daughter Mrs. Thelma Kelly of Richmond, California; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Mrs Etta Keller of Marlow.
