Kenneth Elmer Campbell
Fairview Republican
21 Oct 1954

Services Held For Ringwood Man

Services for Kenneth Elmer Campbell were held at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church at Ringwood. Burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Campbell, 44, was found shot to death around 9 p.m. Sunday night at the farm home of his mother, 4 miles southeast of Ringwood. Death was said to have been self inflicted by Sheriff T.R. Libby, Fairview. The body was found by Mrs. Mary Campbell, his mother, lying in the bathroom on top of a 12 gauge shotgun.

Campbell was on the road a good bit in order to maintain his work. His interests centered principally around farming and during sheep shearing he was in various states. For the past three months he had remained at home with his mother most of the time and for some time his general despondency had been noted. Since returning to Ringwood he had been separated from his wife who resides at Enid.

Sometime ago a motor driven sheep shearing device which he invented, was responsible for his winning several prizes at sheep shearing contests.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Campbell; four brothers Paul Campbell, Carl Campbell, and Jesse Campbell, all of Ringwood; Charles Campbell, Shawnee; and one sister Mrs. Bertha Francis, Ames.

Obit and additional information below was submitted by Jo Aguirre

He was born 7-25-1910 and died 10-17-1954. He was the son of Joseph E Campbell and Mary Emma (Hall) Campbell. I have that he married Irene Rogers 12-8-1945 at Sun City Kansas. They had no children.
