October 15, 1937 – March 19, 2019

Gary LaVaughn Anderson was born west of Ringwood on October 15, 1937 to Grey Anderson and Bernice Mosher Anderson and passed from this life on March 19, 2019 in Enid. He attended Ringwood Public Schools and graduated in 1955. He married Janice Spears on September 2, 1956. They moved to west Texas where he was a store manager for Safeway and lived there for ten years before moving back to his family’s farm northwest of Ringwood in 1968. He worked in the oil fields and after his father’s death he began farming and ranching on the home place. He then went to work for the Fairview Sale Barn and retired from there after twenty-four years in January 2000. They had one son, Dustin Grey who was active in 4-H and FFA. Gary was always there to help him with his projects. He served many years on the Ringwood Fair Board and Major County Fair Board. One of his proudest accomplishments was the beginning of the March Livestock Bonus Auction while he was serving on the county fair board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grey and Bernice Anderson; one brother, Bob Anderson and one sister, Kathie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Janice of Ringwood; son, Dustin Anderson and wife, Shelly of Ringwood; grandchildren, Shaycee, Greyc’n and Creeden;sister, Mary Lou Rowley of Portales, New Mexico; brother, Don Anderson and wife, Carrol of Ringwood; sister-in-law, Sandi Anderson Cooley and husband, J.C. of Ringwood and brother-in-law, Larry Johnson of Enid; special family members, DeaAnn Bayne Silverman and husband, Marty and David Parker.

Funeral service for Gary will be Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno with Cody Anderson and Marty Rowley officiating. Burial will follow at Free Home Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be given to Ringwood Education Foundation through the funeral home. Please make out checks to CFO as the payee and Ringwood Scholarship Endowment listed in the memo.
