Forrest Cemetery


Funeral service for Virginia Jean Spratt, 72, of Chickasha, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at McRay Funeral Home Chapel.

Virginia Jean Spratt was born near Ringwood on Dec. 2, 1933, to Claude and Helen Kepford. She went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, after an extended illness.

Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Enid and attended Middleberg Baptist Church. She was known for her sweet gentle spirit, good sense of humor, and love for her family. Her faith in God was strong throughout her life.

Virginia was married in 1954 to the late Calvin Cox of Enid. They lived in Enid for a while and then moved to the Blanchard area in 1959. Virginia moved to Oklahoma City in 1978. Later, she married Donald Spratt of Oklahoma City. Virginia moved to Chickasha in 1995 and has been residing at Shanoan Springs Residence.

Surviving are her son, Calvin Cox, and his wife Karee of Chickasha; daughter, Beverly Charlson, and her husband Greg of Chickasha; daughter, Joy Shepard and her husband, Brad of Cement; granddaughter, Heather Cox; grandson, Heath Cox, and his wife Daphne; grandsons, Dalton, Dylan and Devan Shepard; grandson, Austin Charlson; sister, Carrie Swenson and husband, Wayne; sister, Norma Montgomery and husband Ed; brother, Jere Kepford and wife, Juanita; and other relatives and friends.

Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Forrest Cemetery in Ringwood. Service will be under the direction of McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.
