Esta Elnora Martin was born on July 31, 1925 to Walter Ezra and Esther (Wion) Back and passed from this life, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Fairview Fellowship Home.

Growing up a sharecropper’s daughter, Esta and her family made their home in numerous places before settling in Major County. She and her siblings attended school at Lone Star country school until its closing, and then graduated from Longdale High School with the class of 1945. Esta married her sweetheart Raymond Martin on May 23, 1945 in Taloga, Oklahoma. They raised two daughters, Loretta and Lela.

Esta and Raymond lived near Cedar Springs until they bought their first 80 acres in 1951 where they made their home. The couple farmed and ranched side by side until Raymond’s health declined. Esta moved to the Fairview Fellowship Home Apartments 2007 then due to declining health to the Fellowship Home in 2016 where she lived until her passing.

Left to cherish Esta’s memory are her children; Loretta Parkins and husband Charles of Fairview, Lela Reddekopp and husband Jeff of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Christy and husband Davis Webb, Brenda and husband Sam Waggoner, Kara Eitzen, all of Fairview, one sister, Laura Woodbury of Medicine Lodge, Kansas and seven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, three brothers and three sisters.
