Mother spent her childhood years on her parent’s farm at Hesston, Kansas. She received her education at French Country School. At the age of 16 she gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized by Minister Frank Wenger into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. On September 2, 1945 she married Victor Smith. Mom spent many hours in the RV doing handwork, writing letters and reading her Bible while Dad fished. Mom and Dad shared 57 years of married life. They purchased a home in Fairview and moved off the farm. In 2002 Dad passed away. After 12 years of being by herself Mother found a new home in Montezuma, Kansas. The wonderful people at Bethel Home became her new family.
