Funeral services for Margaret “June” Koehn will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Margaret June Koehn was born February 1, 1940 to Elden and Anna Edingfield in Canton, Oklahoma. She was raised in the Canton, Oakwood, Eagle City areas but finished school in Fairview, Oklahoma. June married Martin Koehn in 1957 and this union was blessed with three children; Chester, Pattie, and Linda. June and Martin took the kids on a family vacation to Washington state to visit her sister and brother in law but found out the pay for a brick mason was better there and ended up staying a year. June came back to Fairview to see her brother, Butch, off to the Vietnam War and ended up staying for good.
June was a hardworking woman who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker while her children were young and then went to work outside the home. June worked for Hallren’s, Eva and Harold’s flower shop then opened her own shop in Ringwood honing her skills with flowers. She worked for the Eck’s Greenhouse which later became Shadetree Nursery, working in the same location for twenty plus years. June definitely had a green thumb and much knowledge about growing things and enjoyed passing it on to others. She tried to retire from the nursery but was called back to work for several more.
June and Martin had lots of fun through the years camping with their kids and friends. The grandchildren remember fondly camping with Grandma while visiting places like Alabaster Caverns and eating her homemade ice cream. They would rather be at her houses than anywhere else. She was a fabulous cook but her most requested dishes were her fried chicken and pink salad. June put in huge gardens and canned many jars from them. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and flower gardening. She gave so much of herself caring for her children and others.
She was preceded by her parents, her son Chester and daughter Linda.
Left to cherish her memory is: her loving husband Martin of Ringwood, Oklahoma, daughter, Patti and husband Tracy Phillips of Mulhull, Oklahoma, brother, Butch and wife Kathy Edingfield, sister Joyce and husband Jack Kelly all of Fairview and one sister Etta Ann and Lavon Sinclair of Ellensburg, Washington, four grandchildren; Cody, Chris, Tyler and Brenda, nine great-grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial may be made to OMRF Diabetes Division with the Fairview Funeral Home Acting as custodians.
