01-06-1925 - 09-25-2015

Rose Marie Unruh Boehs was born January 6, 1925, to Jacob J.C. and Susie Nichols Unruh near Galva, Kansas. She peacefully passed away in the Fairview Fellowship Home on September 25, 2015, in Fairview, Oklahoma. At the age of two she moved with her parents to a farm near Greensburg, Kansas. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on December 21, 1937. She graduated Greensburg High School in April of 1939. After graduation, Rose worked in a variety of bookkeeping jobs.

She married Leonard Boehs of Fairview, Oklahoma on November 23, 1947. Soon after marriage, she resumed her bookkeeping career with the Reames-Boehs Minneapolis-Moline dealership. In 1976, Leonard started his own business, Boehs Repair and once again she was “keeping the books”. Summers were spent following the wheat harvest from Oklahoma to Montana. Mom possessed the beautiful grace of acceptance when faced with difficulties and changes in life. In 2011 she chose to move into the rest home and embraced it as home. She always appreciated the loving care received there. The Lord was her Rock and Comfort and she often turned to Him in prayer. Her prayers will continue to be felt. Home and family were important to her. Phone calls to her children were a daily occurrence. At the age of 71, she travelled to Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa to visit Tim, Anne and family, including their new son Fadzi (Chad David).

Survivors include children Susan and Sheldon Wadel, of Haviland, Kansas, and Tim and Anne Boehs of Fairview, Oklahoma. She is also survived by the following seven grandchildren: Brandon and Karianna Boehs, Thomas, Oklahoma, Jonathan and Shayla Wadel, Haviland, Kansas, Katelyn and Alan Benner, Marion, Alabama, Andrea and Les Leid, Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, Jesse Wadel, Haviland, Kansas, Michael Boehs, Ringwood, Oklahoma, and Chad (Fadzi)Boehs, Fairview, Oklahoma. She was especially blessed with three great-grandchildren, Reese and Sadie Benner, and Abigail Wadel. She is also survived by her siblings, Curtis and Joan Unruh, Canton, Kansas, Donald and Ilene Unruh, Alton and Virginia Unruh, Sharon Sutton, all of Greensburg, Kansas; Elsie Unruh, and Dorothy Unruh, Greensburg, Kansas, sister-in-law Velma Boehs, Moundridge, Kansas, brother-in-law Robert and Joan Boehs, Helena, Oklahoma, and her very special sister-in-law Willamae Boehs, Fairview, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; many siblings and in-laws.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Fairview, Oklahoma, with Minister Mark Dirks officiating. Burial in Cedar Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. Visitation with the family present will be from 3 - 4 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
