Marlene Betty Koehn Adkins was born to Frank and Leona Boehs Koehn near Fairview, Oklahoma, February 21, 1942. She peacefully departed this life on May 3, 1989, in the Bass Baptist Hospital, Enid, Oklahoma, following a brief illness. Death was caused by a massive cerebral hemorrhage. She reached the age of forty-seven.

She grew to womanhood in the Fairview, Oklahoma community. At the age of thirteen she felt the Lord calling her. Upon repentance and confession of her sins she received forgiveness and the peace of God. Upon the confession of her faith she was baptized on February 20, 1955, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. To this faith she remained faithful.

She found her life's companion in Jack L. Adkins, they being united in marriage on February 2, 1968, at Fairview, Oklahoma. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for twenty-one years and were blessed with one daughter and two sons. The first nine months of their married life were spent at Fairview, Oklahoma, after which they moved to Harrison, Michigan, residing there for four years. In January of 1973 they moved to their present residence in Goltry, Oklahoma.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Jack; her children: Lucinda Rae, Gerald Lee, and Byron Jack, all of the home; her father, Frank A. Koehn of Fairview, Oklahoma; her brothers: Kenneth and wife Bernice of Goltry, Oklahoma; Jerry and wife Viola of Fairview, Oklahoma; Ray Allen and wife Antonia of Isabella, Oklahoma; and Richard and wife Kathy of Fairview, Oklahoma; also aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her father-in-law.
