Victor "Vic" Ameil Koehn
February 5, 1936 - October 30, 2022

Funeral services for Victor Ameil Koehn, 86, of Enid, formerly of Fairview, will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Fairview, Oklahoma. Burial will follow the service at the Cedar Cemetery. Arrangements by the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Vic Koehn, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born to Ameil and Mabel Koehn at Fairview, Oklahoma on February 5, 1936, and quietly passed away on October 30, 2022, at his home in Enid, Oklahoma, reaching the age of 86 years.

Dad grew up, with his two brothers and two sisters, on the family farm south of Fairview. Those early years on the farm prepared him for a lifetime of hard work and "making do" with what he had. Vic married Lauretta Nightengale on November 4, 1960. At his passing, they were only a few days from celebrating 62 years together. On April 23, 1972, Vic and Lauretta were baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite at Fairview by Minister Milton Boehs.

Four children - Vicki, Valerie, Vanessa, and Vincent - were born to Vic and Rita. God called three of their children home in their childhood years, bringing Vic and Rita much pain and heartache. This loss brought them and Valerie especially close, and when Valerie's two boys were born, they added a special sparkle to Vic's eyes and quickly found a permanent place in his soft heart. He would do anything for his grandsons.

A good provider, Dad enjoyed several jobs through the years, along with his farming. He worked at Jensen's and Waldons but will be most remembered for the 43 years he spent working for Major County. His countless hours grading many miles of county roads were much appreciated by his friends and neighbors.

Dad didn't know a stranger and was a man with many friends. He was steady and was always there when we needed him. His testimony of late was of a desire to stand free before God, and he longed to go home.

Vic is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years - Lauretta, daughter Valerie and husband Shawn, grandsons Logan and Levi, sisters Betty Giesbrecht and Emalee & husband Vic Wedel, sister-in-law Margaret Koehn, and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three children, brothers Roland Koehn and Richard & wife Ruby Koehn, and brother-in-law Bill Giesbrecht.
