Funeral services for Howard “Jack” Lyons, 90, Ames, will be held on Monday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ames Christian Church with Pastor Thomas Holton officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Ames Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army.

Jack was born on July 28, 1925 in Matfield Green, Kansas, the son of Howard and Alta Naylor Lyons and passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 at Hillcrest Healthcare in Tulsa. He was raised and educated in Matfield Green, Kansas. Jack enlisted in the United States Army during World War II. Jack married Juanell McAbee in Coldwater, Kansas on April 14, 1977. He worked as a Tool Pusher in the oilfield for many years and moved to Enid via Alva in 1984.

Jack was a member of Ames Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Juanell of the residence; son, Matt and his wife, Suzy Lyons of Woodward and Luke Lyons of Cherokee; daughter, Shonda and husband Scott Martin of Texas; 16 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Gray of Topeka, Kansas.

Jack was preceded in passing by his parents, son, Had, daughters, Sherry White and Merry Gaye Lyons; two grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
