The funeral for Larry Bishop, age 69, will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 18, 2014, at First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Jarrod Cloud officiating. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Larry was born to Harry and Esther (Sturgeon) Bishop on August 3, 1944, in Enid, and passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Oklahoma City. Larry was raised in the Ames Community and graduated from Ames High School in May 1962. He worked in retail sales and later in wholesale sales.

On February 22, 1964, Larry married Karolene Suzanne Jack. From this union three beautiful children were born: Brian Scott, Mindy Suzanne and Jennifer Nicole. Larry worked in the oilfields as a roughneck, driller and tool pusher. He later married Ann Dosh in 1983.

Larry worked for Enid Public Schools as a custodian for fifteen year. Larry once said he was successful in everything he tried except marriage, he had a hard time staying married. He then worked for Star Tek until his retirement in 2009. It was there he met Nannetta Hughes, whom he married on October 5, 2003. He and Nannetta lived quietly in retirement until his death.

Larry was preceded in death by his son Brian, daughter Mindy, grandson Adrian Ortiz, brother Bob, mother Esther Downs and her husband, his father Harry Bishop and his wife.

Larry is survived by his wife Nannetta of the home; daughter Jennifer Ortiz and husband Ismael, of Enid; grandchildren, Julie, Johnathan and Jake; stepsons James Hughes and William Hughes; seven step grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Assembly – Peru Missions.
