Services for Lufern Bearden Young, 66, of Thackerville, were held at 3 p.m., Monday, January 7, in the Thackerville Community Church of Christ, with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating.
Mrs. Young was born July 12, 1935, at Marietta, the daughter of Cecil and Jewell Pearson Bearden. She died Friday, January 4, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Young had made her home in the Thackerville area most of her life. She and Charles A. Young were married March 24, 1951, in Ardmore. She attended school at Thackerville. A homemaker, Mrs. Young was a member of the Thackerville Community Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Young of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Allen and Joanna Young and Joe Don and Sue Young of Thackerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Lou and Carl Alford of Justin, Texas, and Charlyn Sue and Bobby Scott of Thackerville; eight grandchildren, Tracie Alford, Chuck Scott, Jodie Young, Jacie Young, Justin Young, Dustin Scott, Amber Young and Chase Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Scott and Jessica Scott.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents.
Serving as pallbearers were grandchildren, Tracie Alford, Chuck Scott, Jodie Young, Jacie Young, Justin Young, Dustin Scott, Amber Young and Chase Scott.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
