Services for Charles Yount, 79, of Burneyville, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, at Spivey's Reser Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton, with the Rev. David Colaw officiating.
Mr. Yount was born December 28, 1920, at Cushing, the son of Charles Otis and Katherine (Durham) Yount. He died Monday, October 9, 2000, in Marietta.
He and Prunella "Dee" DeJarnett were married December 29, 1961, in Marietta. Mr. Yount was a member of the Christian Church. He was a professional football watcher and also enjoyed golf, tennis and soap operas, however, his preference was his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Prunella "Dee" Yount of the home; one son, Bobby Yount of Oklahoma City; two daughters and son-in-law, Wetona and Dewayne McCarty of Courtney and Carolyn Bauer of New Jersey; three sisters, Margie Hockenbraugh of Bullhead City, Arizona; Joyce Unruh of Hennessey, and Patty Yount of Dallas; and four grandchildren, Stephanie McCarty, Shelby McCarty, Lacy Yount and Sheri Bauer.
Mr. Yount was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Edna Yount.
Pallbearers were C.L. Matthews, Owen Kushniruk, John Cartwright, Bob Taylor, Rick Brown and Gary Martin. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Bill Cornish.
Interment was held in the Mount Olive Cemetery, Healdton, under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home.
