Funeral services for Wessie Brown Livingston, 82,were held August 30 at Biggers Funeral Chapel in Azle, Texas.
Mrs. Livingston died August 26, 2000, at her home in Fort Worth. She was born January 12, 1918, at Burneyville, the daughter of C.R. and Willie Manning Hearell. She grew up in East Texas where her father was employed by Magnolia Oil Company.
She was a gifted vocalist and sang for many years in the First Methodist Church Choir in Azle. Mrs. Livingston was also a member of a ladies quartet that performed at various Azle community functions. In her earlier years, she was a member of the nationally recognized singing group, "The Sweet Adelines." A licensed cosmetologist, she owned her own salon for many years.
Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Brown, on June 22, 1982. She and Lee Livingston were married on May 15, 1997, and he died on August 27, just one day following her death.
Her survivors include a daughter, Judith Brown of Dallas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Christine Brown of Azle and Charles and Linda Brown of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Rathburn of Nash, Texas, and Odessa Childs of Falconhead; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Hearell of Weatherford, Texas, and Bobbie Hearell of Kilgore, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her father on April 25, 1984; her mother on March 3, 1970; and two brothers, Sebron Hearell on September 16, 1976, and Ford Hearell on August 21, 2000.
Love County relatives, other than her sister, include Tony Hearell, Odis Hearell, Audra Hearell, Ronald Manning, Irene Manning and Sandra Manning.
Mrs. Livingston was also the niece of the late Alex Manning, John Manning, Boss Manning and Noah Hearell.
