Services for Virginia Long, 81, of Royse City, Texas, were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 1, in the Williams Chapel in Garland, Texas, with the Rev. Nova Pittman officiating.
Mrs. Long was born October 8, 1920, in Marietta. She died Tuesday, January 29, 2002, at her home in Royse City.
She was of the Baptist faith for many years. Mrs. Long was a grocery store clerk, a homemaker and a baker. She lived several years in Gainesville, Texas, with her husband of over 20 years, Lester Long, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Long later married Hubert Faulkenberry. They were married for over 20 years before he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four step-children, Ronnie and Donnie Long, and Jean Burris and Darlean Burkhart, both of Gainesville; a sister, Minnie Lee Webb of Royse City; several step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Williams Funeral Directors, Garland.
