Services for Margaret Marie Leake, 72, of Lake Jackson, Texas, were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 18, in the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson, with the Rev. Bill Gandin and the Rev. Roy Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Leake was born May 10, 1929, in Marietta, the daughter of Pat and Gladys Michael. She died Monday, April 15, 2002, at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Leake lived in the Brazosport, Texas area since 1965. She and Al Leake were married September 16, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Leake was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson.
Survivors include her husband Al Leake of Lake Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Kesler of Lake Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Judy Leake of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Ryan Kessler and his wife, Melissa of Lake Jackson, Kent Kessler of Lake Jackson, Brandi Leake of San Antonio, Cyndi Leake of San Antonio; three sisters, Mildred Triplett of Oakdale, California, Ann Michael of Dallas and Beverly Terrell of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a very special aunt, Lucille Hill of Marietta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Patty Volk.
Honorary pallbearers were all members of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson.
Interment was in Restwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Clute, Texas, under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Chapel, Lake Jackson, Texas.
