Services for Gene Landrum, 79, of Ardmore, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, at First Baptist Church of Ardmore, with F.M. "Buddy" Bryant officiating.
Mr. Landrum was born February 13, 1924, in Thackerville, the son of Charles L. and Oda Mae Norman Landrum. He died Thursday, May 29, 2003, in Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
A resident of Ardmore since 1968, Mr. Landrum had previously made his home in Milburn. He was the founder/owner of Landrum Construction for 50 years and had owned A-1 Mini Storage since 1972. He and Iris Buckley were married August 15, 1942, in the Shady Dale community. Mr. Landrum was a member of Bowles Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Iris of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sue Landrum of Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tom Brandt of Ardmore; a brother, Wallis Landrum of Florence, South Carolina; a sister, Wilda Goodwin of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and spouses, Sharon and Mark Woodley, Darrell and Stacie Landrum, Jill and Sam Wallace and Marlene and Brad Hill; five great-grandchildren, Angela Woodley, Megan Woodley, Ashley Landrum, Jackson Wallace and Parker Wallace; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Landrum was preceded in death by his parents; 14 brothers and sisters; and one grandson.
Pallbearers included four grandsons, Darrell Landrum, Mark Woodley, Sam Wallace, Brad Hill, along with Caroll Hendershott and Mike Phillps. Honorary pallbearers were Enoch Watterson, Dan Phipps, Wayman Woodley, Don Jackson, Jim Patton and Bill Davis.
Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Dean McGee Eye Institute or the charity of one's choice in care of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 E. Main, Marietta, OK 73448.
