Services for Emma Horst Lambert were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta's First Baptist Church, officiating.
Born November 3, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Lambert died August 2, 1992, in an Ardmore hospital at the age of 78. She was the daughter of Alexander and Anne Hann Horst.
Mrs. Lambert had lived in Marietta for 40 years, until moving to Madill two years ago. She was a nurse, one of the first nurses employed at the Love County Health Center in Marietta. She had also worked at the Memorial Hospital in Ardmore for many years. She was married to Buford Maxwell Lambert February 15, 1944, in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Marietta First Baptist Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Barbara Lanning of Madill, Margaret Powell of Wichita, Kansas, and Patricia Knock of Marietta; two sisters, Emily Turcan and Bertha Markus of Chicago; three grandsons, three granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by her husband on April 8, 1965.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Lee L. Lemons, Tup Robertson, Jack Adams, Wade Moore, Roy Porter, and Bud Cochran.
