Services for Sarah Grace Morgan Hodges Tucker, 86, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 3, in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with the Rev. Monte Dean officiating.

Interment was in the Oswalt Cemetery in rural Love County.

Born October 6, 1921, at Simon, the daughter of Alexander L. Morgan Sr. and Nancy Althea Irvin Morgan, she died Friday, February 1, 2008, at Marietta. Raised at Simon, she attended school there and at Orr.

She and Bob I. Hodges were married April 1, 1942, at Simon, and he preceded her in death August 18, 1944, while serving in World War II.

She married Gerald W. Tucker on September 10, 1949, at Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2001.

Mrs. Tucker was always a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She always cherished and adored her family. Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Ann and Lynn Davis of Simon, Nancy Bell and Larry Gunter, Sr. of Rexroat, and Deborah Kay and Sam Cain of Marietta; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gerald A. “Butch” Tucker of Oswalt and Bobby Gene and Barbara Hodges of Simon; grandchildren, Melissa Hodges, Robin Hodges Whatley, Frankie Hodges, Kristin Jenne Lovell, Larry Gunter Jr., Sarah Gunter Farrell, Joseph Gunter, Rachel Gunter Bone, Sammy Cain, Jerry Cain, David Cain and Kayla Tucker; three grandsons whom she raised as her own, Steve, Bobby and T.J. Tucker; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Barbara Morgan of Ardmore; a brother-in-law, Walter Futch of Irving, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cloy, Jimmy, Erskin and A.L. Jr.; and sisters, Eunice, Tommie, Annabelle, Linis, Lucy, and an infant sister, Althea.

Pallbearers were son, Bobby Gene Hodges; and grandsons, Frankie Hodges, Larry Gunter Jr., Joseph Gunter, Sammy Cain, Jerry Cain, David Cain, Steve Tucker, Bobby Tucker and T.J. Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were the women’s adult Sunday School class of Rubottom Baptist Church.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Lake Country Nursing Center and Faith Hospice for their kind, heartfelt care and support.
