RONALD DAVID MANNING

Services for Ronald David Manning, 67, of Marietta were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23 in the First Baptist Church of Marietta with Pastor Jeff McLemore officiating. Interment with Masonic rites followed in Lakeview Cemetery.
Born September 13, 1942 at Pike, the son of Alex and Irene Mobley Manning, he died Monday, December 21, 2009 in Mercy Health Love County.
A lifelong resident of Love County, Mr. Manning graduated from Turner High School. He and Mary “Paulette” Sanders were married April 19, 1969 in Nash, Texas. Mr. Manning retired as trainmaster for the Santa Fe Railroad. A Mason since 1973, he was a member of Marietta Lodge #102 and had served as past master and secretary for 15 years. Mr. Manning loved his family, farming and raising cattle. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He especially enjoyed watching them play sports. He was a member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church.
His father preceded him in death on July 12, 1979.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette Manning of the home; mother, Irene Manning of Marietta; two sons and daughter-in-law, Davis Scott and Kerri Manning of Marietta and Michael Paul Manning of Denton, Texas; sister, Stella Manning of Gainesville, Texas; and two grandchildren, Alex Manning and Sara Manning.
Pallbearers were Alex Manning, Barry Gantt, Brian Warthen, Wesley Hearell, Steve Bell and Dewayne Riley. Honorary bearers were Bill Wheat, Dale Damere, Gary O’Dell, Glyn Hicks, Randy Nelson and McDonald Moore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Shriners Hospital c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Marietta, OK 73448.
This obituary included a picture of Mr. Manning.
