Funeral services for Mary Catherine Long, 74, of Guthrie, will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, Dr. Dennis E. Clark of First Christian Church of Guthrie officiating.
Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie. Mary Catherine was born May 12, 1929, in Phoenix, Ariz., to James and Ivy Long. She died Monday, April 12, 2004.
Mary Catherine grew up in Guthrie and graduated from Guthrie High School with the class of 1947. She attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. She retired from Tinker Field where she was employed for more than 30 years.
After retirment, she spent many hours doing volunteer work at the Aging Center and delivering mobile meals.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Guthrie and also was a longtime member of the choir.
Survivors include cousins: Barbara Rutherford and sons of Carrollton, Texas; and Dan Erlewine and his wife, Lillie and daughters, Oklahoma City; as well as other relatives and many longtime friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Long.
Memorials may be made to the Mobile Meals Fund at the First Christian Church, 402 E. Noble, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Wednesday until 8 p.m.
