Graveside services for Winifred Maude Davis, 85, of Guthrie will he held at 2 p.m.Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie with Dr. Dennis Clark officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Winifred was born Nov. 11, 1917 to Jacob W. Davis and Rose Kelley Davis. She died March 3, 2003.
The family moved to a farm in the Seward Community when Winifred was a year old. She attended elementary school at Seward but due to a paralysis condition could not continue with schooling.
Winifred never married; her immediate family and extended family were her life. She was always happy and accepted her limitations in life, had a sharp mind and her family could depend on her to remember important dates.
She had been a member of Golden Age Nursing Home since 1977. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Guthrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Oris Taylor.
Survivors include a sister, Judy Taylor of Guthrie; a niece, Jan Taylor of Edmond; two nephews, Jeff Taylor and wife Debbie of Guthrie and Bob Fries and wife Margaret of Stillwater; three great-nieces, Hayley Taylor, Teresa Fries and Lindsey Schneider; and a great-nephew, Kevin Fries, as well as other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Bob Fries, Jeff Taylor, David Goodrich, Steve Ochs, Dennis Cordis and Gary Nivens.
