Funeral services for Charles Edward Barber, 66, of Mustang, Okla., were held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 at 10 a.m. at UMC Church of the Good Shepherd between Mustang Road and Sara Road on SW 15th with interment in Yukon Cemetery under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Okla.
Charles was born March 22, 1934 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Charles H. and Clara Bay Barber. He grew up in Guthrie and was a graduate of Guthrie High School where he was very active in high school sports. He was a graduate of OCU with a degree in accounting and had served in U.S. Air Force. He worked for over 36 years at Lucent as a computer analyst before retiring. He had been a resident of Mustang since 1973 and was a member of UMC Church of the Good Shepherd. He was also a member of the Pioneer Club at Lucent, West Side Flyers, Mustang Positive Posse and was a Master Gardener.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy, of the home; one daughter, Robyn Boyd and husband Rodney of Guthrie; one son, David Barber and wife Lori of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren; one sister, Clarica Wall and husband Ralph of Purcell; one sister-in-law, Barbara Welch; two brothers-in-law, Mike and Robert Goble; and numerous nieces and nephews.
