Elizabeth Chloe Juan Reed

Born: June 29, 1913
Died: November 02, 2008

Elizabeth C. Reed went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Born to George and Rose Wilson on June 29, 1913, she was one of seven children.

Elizabeth married her husband, James H. Reed, on October 15, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1968.

She spent most of her working years as a telephone operator for S.W. Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1972.

Elizabeth became a Christian and was baptized April 21, 1946 at Yuma Valley Baptist Church in Yuma, Arizona. She remained a faithful servant to her Lord throughout her life. After moving to Guthrie, she became and active member of Noble Avenue Baptist Church.

Besides being a wonderful cook, she had an incredible sense of humor and usually “the life of the party” wherever she went. She was a devoted mother to her three stepchildren and a precious grandmother to her four grandchildren.

"Zizzie", as she was known to her grandchildren, treasured her family and friends and she will always be remembered for her many kind and unselfish deeds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, stepson, James Reed Jr., stepdaughter, Annette Gould, granddaughter, Deborah Morgan, her parents, George and Rose Wilson, brothers, Jack, Jay and Donald Wilson and sisters, Virginia Redalje and Mellie Corrgan.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Rose Milton, Guthrie; grandchildren James McGee and wife Kathy, Pam and Clary and husband Eddie, Millsap, Texas and Annette Summers, Oceanside, Cali. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

Graveside services, under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, will be Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Seward Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Noble Avenue Baptist Church.
