Dwayne Allen Shelton
(August 24, 1961 - August 24, 2010)

Dwayne Allen Shelton of Crescent went to celebrate his 49th birthday with the Lord on August 24, 2010, after a courageous and inspirational fight with cancer.

Dwayne was born on August 24, 1961 to Bing and Elsie (Bradley) Shelton. He was raised in Ponca City during his school years he started wrestling which became his favorite sport. He attended Jefferson Elementary, West Junior High, and graduated from Ponca City High School with the class of 1979. Some of his favorite childhood memories were spending summer vacations in Noel, Missouri with his family. He loved to fish and camp. This became a tradition that he carried out with his own sons. After high school he graduated from NOC in Tonkawa. He then went into the trucking industry. After several years he decided to pursue a career in nursing and earned his RN degree in 2006 from Redlands Community College in El Reno. He began working as a registered nurse at Logan Medical Center and was employed there until the present date.

Dwayne was blessed with having three sons and two step-sons. He enjoyed taking them fishing and loved to watch them wrestle. Dwayne loved spending weekends at the lake with his family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was play with his best birthday present ever, his grandson Kannon, who was born on his birthday.

Dwayne married the love of his life, Penni Jones on June 7, 2008 in Crescent. They made their home in Crescent. Their time together was short in the 2 years they were married, yet they were soul mates that had finally found each other. Dwayne was a inspiration to everyone in his life. He will be missed by many.
