Kenneth Eugene Gipson
(August 5, 1927 - November 27, 2007)


Kenneth Eugene Gipson died November 27, 2007 at his home in Crescent, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was born August 5, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to D.A. and Pearl (Jenks) Gipson. He married Patricia Coakley in 1979 in Durant, Oklahoma.

Ken grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Central High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He worked as a wholesale drug salesman for 23 years. He then went to work for Consumers Grocery Store as store manager and then worked as a Security Guard until his retirement. Ken enjoyed working in his yard and fishing.

Survivors include, wife, Pat Gipson of the home; one daughter, Claudia Sanders; one son, Robert Gipson; three step children, Kevin Byrd, Kristopher Byrd and Kathy Smith; one grandson, Joshua Sanders; five step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Nicholas Sanders and by one brother, Frank Gipson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Abernathy Aaron Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark LeMarr officiating, burial will follow in Oakland - Knowles Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. Condolences may be sent to the family at abernathyaaron.com.
