Noel Eston Gallaway
(December 5, 1936 - June 17, 2012)


Noel Eston Galloway was born December 5,1936 to Roberta Ann (Cunningham) and David Noel Galloway. He went to Heaven June 17,2012 at 75 years of age.

He grew up on a cotton farm near Pawnee Ok. He wasn't afraid of hard work. He went to school in Quay Ok where he met the love of his life on the school bus. He married Marilyn Vickers on January 23,1955. After many odd jobs, 5 children, & a few trips across the U.S. he became a Cleet certified police officer in 1969. He was an officer in many towns across Oklahoma several times assuming position as Chief of Police. They settled in Crescent around 1977. He was an officer, chief of police, and storm chaser for many years. Eventually becoming street superintendent the job he retired from after 20 years of dedicated service.

Noel loved fishing, camping,playing his harmonica,and spending time with friends and family. He always had a smile for everyone. He loved his community, and could be seen in every parade with a wagonload of kids. He was loved by many, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include daughter Denise Phillips of Crescent, sons Joe Galloway and wife Sharyn of Morrison ok, Tom Galloway and wife Sheryl of southeastern Ok, Ron Galloway and wife Kathy of Ponca City Ok, and Dave Galloway of Morrison Ok. 2 sisters DaNell Bauers of Beaumont TX, and Judy Chase and husband Danny of Yale OK, 1 brother Joe Galloway and wife Sue of Stillwater OK. 8 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a host of other loved friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Marilyn Galloway, his parents, and 3 brothers Tommy, Maynard, and Terry Galloway.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday June 22,2012 at the First Christian Church with pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Knowles cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron funeral home in Crescent.

Donations and memorials can be made to the First Christian Church in Crescent, or the church of your choice.
