Bobby Joe Fulkerson
(February 27, 1939 - November 1, 2011)


Bobby Joe Fulkerson was born February 27, 1939 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Mervin Eugene and Imo (Rainwater) Fulkerson. He passed away November 1, 2011 at his home in Crescent, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.

Bob was born and raised in Stroud and attended high school there and was very involved in FFA. After graduation he married Doneva West on June 13, 1958 in Stroud. After only 4 months of marriage Bob and Doneva moved to Oklahoma City where he took a job for the Village Fire Department. Bob served 20 years as a fireman and retired in 1978. He then went to work driving oil trucks for Crescent Transport and Bostick Corporation and retired in June 2011 after 33 years. Bob enjoyed being home, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. He also loved kids and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife Doneva Fulkerson; daughter, Dana Dye of Guthrie; two sons, Monte Fulkerson of Guthrie and Benny Fulkerson of Norman; one sister, Opal Ham of Hennessey; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Cory Fulkerson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 4, 2011 at the First Christian Church with Gene Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
