Earlene Yvonne Leach, 78, peacefully passed at her home on December 8, 2015 surrounded by family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. A service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Orlando United Methodist Church in Orlando, OK. Interment will follow Morris Heights Cemetery.

Earlene was born on February 10, 1937 to Melvin Earl and Lydia (Glockler) Lafon in Guthrie, OK. Earlene grew up and attended school in Orlando. She graduated from Orlando High School in 1954. Following high school, Earlene married her high school sweetheart, Gene. Earlene worked for her father as a bookkeeper to save money to purchase a home. In 1956, Gene and Earlene purchased a farm and started a family. Earlene stayed at home to raise her children and work around the house. She loved to work in flower garden in her free time. In the 1980’s, she went to work as a travel agent at International Tours in Guthrie and Travel International in Edmond until retiring in the late 2000’s.

Earlene was very faithful and family oriented. She was a kind and generous woman. She was a member of Orlando United Methodist Church. Earlene lived for her family. She attended all the family functions and would always bring her famous chocolate chip cookies, which were known as the best around. Earlene attended every school function her grandchildren participated in, especially wrestling matches. She would always keep her eyes closed when her grandchildren would start their duals.

Earlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all.

Earlene was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gene Leach; three children, Vicky Tinsley and husband, Scott of Guthrie, Nikki Leach and wife, Laura, Mikki Leach and long time family friend Michelle Leach, all of Perry; six grandchildren, Gabe Leach, Eric Leach, Shane Leach, Colton Leach, Rachel Leach, and Megan Fleischfresser; two great grandchildren, Kimber Leach and Lydia Leach.

Donations can be made in Earlene’s name to Orlando United Methodist Church or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK 73077.

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.perrycares.com.
