Funeral services for Bill VanHoutan, 77 of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Robby Robbins of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Bill was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Guthrie to Jim and Myrtle Lulu VanHoutan. He died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Bill was a member of the VFW and he worked for the City of Guthrie for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Pearl VanHoutan of Guthrie; three sons, Frank Bailey of California, Gabriel and Rhonda Bass of Ardmore and Woodie "Shawn" Bass and Robin of Guthrie; four daughters, Debbie Mason and Randall David of Plano, Texas, Paula Bass and Woodrow Ford of Guthrie, Rebecca Lucille VanHoutan and fiance' Anthony Kortright of Guthrie and Billie Anne Bernice VanHoutan of Oklahoma City; one sister, Lucille Cunningham of Guthrie; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lois Fields, and one brother, Jimmy VanHoutan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bible Bapitst Church, 4820 S. Division, Guthrie, OK 73044.
