Services are pending with Community Funeral Home in Guthrie for Otis "O. J." James McLaurin, 77, of Guthrie. McLaurin died Feb 25, 2003 at Integrated Specialty Hospital in Edmond.

Funeral services for Otis "O. J." James McLaurin, 77, of Edmond will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at the Community Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bobby Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Community Funeral Home. McLaurin was born Sept. 9, 1925 in Guthrie to Milburn and Evelene (Rogers) McLaurin. He died Feb. 25, 2003 in Edmond.
He had lived in Guthrie and Oklahoma City his entire life. He was a laborer.
Otis was married to Boysie in 1950 and of this union, four children were born: Everett, James, Byron and Linda. He later married Rose and of this union was born Aqunita.
Survivors include three sons, Everett, James and Byron, all of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Linda McLaurin of Fort Worth, Texas and Aqunita McLaurin of Oklahoma City; one grandchild; four brothers, Oscar, Robert, Esco and Al Curtis McLaurin; two sisters, Emma Webster and Dol Esther Harper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Rose, two brothers and three sisters.
Viewing will take place Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
