Clarence C. Cullum, 87, of Guthrie died at Cole's Nursing Home in Logan County on Friday, September 12, 2003. Services at Community Funeral Home will be on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Ham officiating. Community Funeral Home will be in charge of interment, which is to be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Clarence was born on March 13, 1917 in Farmersville, Texas to Grover and Mattie (Watson) Cullum. Mr. Cullum farmed in the Colbert area until their farm was taken for Lake Texoma. Mr. Cullum worked on Texoma Dam until completion. He moved his family to Stidham, OK; Princeton, TX; Dennison, TX; Archille, OK; Durant and Shawnee, Oklahoma; where Mr. Cullum farmed and was a terrace contractor. When he moved the family to Oklahoma City in 1958, Mr. Cullum worked as a mechanic and later they owned their own shop on N. E. 23rd.
He was a member of Southern Baptist Church and worked as an auto mechanic.
He is predeceased by his parents, wife Carrie, 1 brother, 3 sisters and 1 great-ganddaughter.
Mr. Cullum is survived by four children, two sons and two daughters: Jack Cleveland and wife Carol Ann of Oklahoma City, Bob Richard and daughter Wanda Townsend, both of Guthrie and Barbara Joyce Graham and husband Slick of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico.
Mr. Cullum is survived by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Viewing was Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Condolences may be e-mail to the family at SFHGuthrie@aol.com
