Margaret Elma Flasch

Funeral services were held for Margaret Elma Flasch at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie, Oklahoma, with Pastors Ryan Mills of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment followed at Lutheran Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma under the direction of Smith Gallo Funeral Home.

Margaret was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on July 10, 1913 to John A. and Theresa {Karner} Freudenberger and passed from this life at the age of 92, on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Cole's Nursing Home, Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Margaret's family moved to Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma and she attended Pleasant Valley and Coyle Schools. She graduated from Coyle High School, Coyle Oklahoma.

She married Otto Arthur Flasch, on November 8, 1933 and they were lifelong companions. She had known him since she was 2 years old. From 1938 to 2004 they lived on a farm west of Coyle, Oklahoma.

Margaret and Otto have been lifelong faithful servants of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma and Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie, Oklahoma {after the churches merged}. She was a gracious hostess who enjoyed frequent family gatherings and visitors were always welcome.

She was an active member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Victory Home Demonstration Club, Coyle Y.I.M. Study Club, Logan County Farm Bureau Woman's Committee, Coyle Band Boosters and Victory Community Club. She was an accomplished seamstress with many hand stitched quilts and other projects to her credit.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Otto of Guthrie; four children; Mary Beck and husband Raymond of Guthrie; Kathryn Williams and husband, John of Coyle; Linda Lafleur and husband, Ronald of Williamsburg, Virginia; and Rosalie Weber and husband Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also ten grandchildren: Michael Redman and wife Myra of Yorktown,Virginia; Raymond Beck and wife Talleri of Mullhall, Oklahoma; John {Jay} C. Williams, III and wife Margaret of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Melinda Redman of Alexandria, Virginia; Paul Beck and wife Melissa of Hope, Arkansas; Carl Williams and wife Karen of Coyle; Clark Williams of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Douglas Beck and wife Michelle of Nowata, Oklahoma; Geoffrey Weber and wife, Laurie, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Jonathan Weber of Lansing, Michigan; and sixteen great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Altar fund, 424 East Warner, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
