Death of Mrs. Hughes. Died, May 9, 1899, at her home, three miles west of Lawrie, Sarah E., wife of Lewelyn Hughes. Deceased was born in St. Louis county, Mo., on Feb. 4, 1851. Her maden name was Neale. She was converted in childhood and united with the M. E. church and remained a faithful member until called to the "Church Triunphant." She was a great sufferer for many years, yet a patient, joyful Christian, although "a shut in." She will be greatly missed in the neighborhood. She leaves a husband and a large family of children, and they have the heartfelt sympathy of all. Her remains were laid to rest in the Lawrie cemetery.
