Mary Joan Standifer, lovingly known as Josie, 80, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away November 17, 2017 at Village on the Park in Oklahoma City, OK. Josie was born January 17, 1937 near Cashion, OK to Adolph Benjamin (AB) and Pansy Beatrice (Leif) Casey. She graduated from Cashion High School in 1955. Josie lived in OK, NY, CA, and returned to Oklahoma where she married the love of her life, Ray W. Standifer Jr. in Midwest City, OK. They were happily married for 42 years.

Josie worked at Avis, National Car Rental and Oklahoma City Structural, where she worked side by side with Ray until retirement.

Josie was very compassionate, giving and loved everyone. She loved arranging flowers, swimming, nature, high school and college wrestling. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was always positive and supportive of her family in all their activities and endeavors.

Survivors include her husband, Ray W. Standifer Jr., of the home; son, Mark David Harris, of California; sister, V. Colleen Young, of Oklahoma City; grandson, Josh Cruzan and wife Jennifer, of Edmond; great-grandchildren, Stella, Sophie, and Scarlett Cruzan, of Edmond. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, AB and Pansy Casey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Smith Memorial Chapel with celebrant Glenda Stansbury and military chaplain Dale Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Services are under Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Oklahoma Chapter, Department 2845, Tulsa, OK 74182 or a charity of your choice.

Josie's family and friends would like to thank the staff at Village on the Park Memory Care and Physician's Choice Hospice for their loving care.
