Donald Will Fry
(February 23, 1920 - March 14, 2012)

Donald Will Fry was born February 23, 1920 in Lovell, Oklahoma to Leonard and Ethel (Bell) Fry. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1938. He married Lexy Lee Hager on June 27, 1941 in Crescent. To this union a son, Donald William was born on March 26, 1942. Donald and Lexy with young son moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1942, where Donald began working for Beech Aircraft. That career was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 to nobly serve his country during WWII. He served in the European Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in the war.

After the war, Donald and Lexy with son “Donnie” returned to Wichita where Donald resumed his career at Beech Aircraft. In 1969, they moved to Salina, Kansas where Donald was transferred by Beech. He retired in 1982 as foreman of the commercial parts division after 40 years of service. Soon after his retirement, they moved back to Crescent where they had begun their married life together.

Donald passed away on March 14, 2012 in Crescent. He is survived by his loving wife Lexy of over 70 years of Crescent; only child, Donald Fry and wife Roxie, two grandchildren, Jill and John, two great grandchildren, Ryan and Alison all of Phoenix, Arizona. Donald will be lovingly remembered by his family as well as many friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Crescent with Pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Crescent Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
