Joy Lee Litle passed away at the age of 93 on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Joy was born to J. Jacob Smith and Una Mae (Moore) Smith on October 17, 1927 in Cromwell, Oklahoma. Joy graduated high school from Okemah in 1947. She met and then married Leonard Ernest Litle in Hennryetta, OK on January 23, 1948. They were married until his passing in 1994. Joy has been in the Lincoln Co. area since 1951. Her greatest job and blessing was raising her family. Joy was always one to take care of people, especially her family. She helped raise and take care of her siblings from a very young age and then took that into her adulthood being an important role in her two daughters and her nieces’ lives. When her and Leonard were young, they really enjoyed getting to go camping and being outdoors. One of her other favorite interests was watching sports, especially her OKC Thunder. If the Thunder were on, you didn’t bother Joy. Joy also enjoyed anything with crafts, she even helped with mothers clubs when she was a young mother herself. Joy was also known to play dominoes with family when they would all get together. One thing Joy always made sure of was that her nails were painted, no matter what, she wanted to look her best. Joy will be dearly missed.

Joy is preceded in death her husband Leonard Ernest Litle, parents J. Jacob and Una Mae Smith; daughter Shirley Brewer; 2 brothers Kenneth and Dean Smith; and niece Charlene Thompson and nephew Roger Ott.

Joy is survived by her sister Betty Melson; nieces Joy Bly, Kathy Helm, and Gail Paine daughter Donna Jean Wright and 2 grandchildren and also many other nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 3:00 PM at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks, OK with Pastor Rocky Williams officiating. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
