Kevin Ray Whitmore

whitmore-k-r

February 3, 1961 ~ February 9, 2023

Kevin Ray Whitmore was born on February 3, 1961, and departed this life too soon on February 9, 2023.

Kevin was born to Forrest "Frosty" and Betty (Smith) Whitmore. He graduated from Tipton High School. After high school, Kevin worked some odd and end jobs. He later joined the United States Navy to serve his country. He met and married Gayle (Steed) Wyre in March of 1995. He worked over 25 years at T.D. Williamson. Afterwards, he worked at PPI as a pressure tester until his retirement. A few years ago, Kevin and Gayle moved back home to Milfay. One of Kevin's greatest passions in life was basketball. He loved playing and watching basketball, especially high school. He set some amazing records when he played in high school. Kevin enjoyed keeping up with his grandkids, fishing, bird watching, and motorcycles. He loved Christmas! When he and Gayle married, he was so excited for their first Christmas together. If Kevin wanted to do something, he did all he could to learn about it. Kevin was a gentle giant. His caring and loving spirit will be missed.

Kevin leaves behind his wife of 27 years Gayle Whitmore; parents Forrest and Betty Whitmore; son Justin Wyre and wife Michelle; son Lundy Wyre and wife Bethany; daughter Jade Woods and husband Nathan; son Nicholas Whitmore and Savannah Gordineer; grandchildren Andrew, Silas, Eowyn, and Baby Woods on the way; brother Forrest Kent Whitmore and wife Leslie; sister Kimberly Signorelli and husband James; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Milfay Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery. Service will also be livestreamed on facebook on Milfay Baptist Church page. A guest book is available to share your memories on-line. Please visit www.ParksBrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
