Carlos Ann Ward was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on June 14, 1937 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the age of 81 years.

Carlos was the daughter of Orville Samuel and Mamie (Thompson) Mayfield. She was a resident of Stroud most of her life. Carlos graduated from Stroud High School in 1955. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud. She retired from the City of Stroud after 25 years. Carlos loved to go to church and help with the dinners. She married William Lavon Ward on August 28, 1955. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Carolyn Henshaw, brother Billy and one son, Jon.

Survivors include one daughter, Lavonna Gail Webre of Claremore, one brother, Sammy Mayfield & wife Marie of Edmond, one sister, Kathy Henry and husband Tony of Wichita, KS, one grandson Eric Webre of Claremore, one great-grandson Remington Anthony Webre, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to thank Carlos’ circle of friends for all they did before and during Carlos’ illness. These special ladies are Lavina Hinman, Nellie Faye Cooper, Pat Poskey, Aleta Smalley (cousin), Thelma Mauldin, Lorraine Cody and Francis Hixon.

Carlos’ family and friends would also like to thank Stroud Health Care Center for all the loving care and attention they gave Carlos during the last weeks of her life.

Finally, a special thanks to Pastor James Bond for his presence in Carlos’ life.

Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Stroud at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 with Pastor James Bond officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
