MAX KENNETH THOMAS SR.

Max Kenneth Thomas Sr., Stroud, OK-Max Kenneth Thomas, Sr., 83, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Virginia Sue (Schofield) Thomas; his daughter, Debbie Kuhlman and her husband, Steve Kuhlman of Moore, OK; his daughter, Pam Thompson and her husband, Johnny Thompson of Midwest City, OK; his son, Max Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Sheila Thomas of Kingfisher, OK; his daughter, Marsha Thompson and her husband, Jim Thompson of Stroud, OK; grandson, Jason Schmitz and his wife, Amy; granddaughter, Heather Williams and her husband Z; grandson, Jeff Thompson and his wife, Lindsey; grandson, Logan Schmitz, grandson, Joshua Thompson and his wife, Holly; grandson, Kurt Thomas; granddaughter, Jaclyn Thompson; granddaughter, Courtney Thomas; grandson, Shane Kuhlman and his wife Pam; granddaughter, Lori Lanon and her husband, Matt; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Les and Lena B. Thomas; five sisters, Bell Buchanan, Irene Estep, Kay Hill, Winifred Shields, and Margaret Henshaw; and two brothers, Freddie Thomas and Lester Thomas.

Born in Kendrick, OK on October 20, 1933, son of Les and Lena (Jordan) Thomas. He was a lifelong resident of Stroud, OK.

Max loved athletics and horse racing as he spent most of his years as a horse owner and trainer. Max’s greatest love was for his family. He loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren compete.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016,at Stroud Cemetery with Rev. Terry Henshaw officiating. A fellowship following at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center Stroud. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
