Shirley Ann Troyer Cockrell

Shirley Ann Cockrell was born on September 13,1926 in Avant, Oklahoma. She departed this life on August 7, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 93 years.

Shirley was born to Basil and Grace (Snider) Troyer. She was a graduate of Davenport High School where she was valedictorian. She was married to Johnnie D. Cockrell Sr. in San Francisco, CA on July 12,1945. Shirley worked most of her career as a bookkeeper for several businesses. She like to travel and especially enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, her out of state family, and loved her dogs. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Basil and Grace Troyer, husband Johnnie D. Cockrell Sr, son James Kevin Cockrell, and brother Dick Troyer.

Survivors include one son Jon Michael Cockrell and wife Concesa; grandchildren Jacki Miller and husband Tyler, Johnnie D Cockrell II, Sam Cockrell and wife Emily, and Cortney Cockrell; great grandchildren James Ray Winn III, Hanna Miller, Baron Cockrell, and Ford Cockrell; two sisters Gloria Mendenhall, Sharlene Applegate and husband Max, along with many extended family and friends.
