DOUG FAIRBANKS

October 7, 1977 - June 21, 2018

Douglas "Doug" Brian Fairbanks, was born on October 7, 1977, in Shawnee, weighing just 1 pound and 11 ounces and was known as Prague's Miracle Baby. He departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 40.

Doug, the son of Mike Fairbanks and Janet Parks was a resident of Prague. Doug married Vicki Prince on May 28, 2004 . He was a devoted father and had a very special relationship with his daughters, Hannah and Hailey. Doug enjoyed spending time creating his new woodworking business and planning new projects. He was known to be firm in his political beliefs. Doug was an avid OSU fan and had obtained an Associates Degree from OSU in automotive engineering technology with a major in auto body. He extended his studies to include ministry with SCOPE ministries in Edmond including family counseling training and he also held an IT license. Doug was a member of the Elite Jeep club and created many treasured memories for his family driving the Jeep on trips, especially to Colorado. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church. Doug had a "unique" sense of humor and loved to give sarcastic answers to just about any questions he was asked. Everybody loved his craziness and his fun loving nature.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted Kaltenbach, Carl E. Fairbanks, Lou Vella and Lester Strubhar; stepfather, James "Jim" Patterson Parks II; mother-in-law, Carolyn Prince and aunt, Peggy Gray.

Doug is survived by his wife, Vicki Fairbanks; daughters, Hannah Grace and Hailey Sue; father and step-mother, Mike and Jenny Fairbanks; mother, Janet Parks; sister and brother-in-law, Kristina and Steve Degraffenreid; father-in-law, Shelby Prince; sisters-in-law, Shelly Stockton and Cindy Wackerly and husband Travis; grandmother, Pearl Kaltenbach; aunt, Kathy Gunter; uncle, Ronald Fairbanks and wife, Julia and Ted Kaltenbach and wife, Rhea; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many other family and friends.

The Fairbanks family will receive friends on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 800 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud with Brother Mike Haines officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
